Our Story

Grace Thomas Communications was founded by Shannon Perkins, a lifelong writer and communications professional with a passion for storytelling, connection, and meaningful communication.

From writing short stories and heartfelt notes as a child to contributing to her high school newspaper and falling in love with language through AP English, Shannon has always been drawn to the power of words.

She earned a Bachelor of Arts in English with a concentration in Writing & Mass Communications and a minor in Marketing from Assumption University, later followed by a Master’s degree in Communications with a minor in Public Relations from Southern New Hampshire University.

After beginning her career as a technical writing intern at CVS Caremark, Shannon spent 14 years at MEDITECH working across internal and external communications, content creation, strategic messaging, and brand communication.

As a mom of two young children, Shannon launched Grace Thomas Communications — named after her children’s middle names — to combine her love for communication and storytelling with the flexibility and purpose-driven work she values most.

Today, Grace Thomas Communications partners with businesses and leaders to create thoughtful, strategic communication that builds connection, clarity, and brand presence.

When she’s not behind her computer, Shannon enjoys spending time with family and friends, staying active, organizing, and enjoying summers on the Southcoast of Massachusetts.
